High-performance in-wall center speaker with closed cabinet, designed for bi-amping and active crossover.
The Lyngdorf D-60 C is a 3-way in-wall center speaker designed to offer the highest performance in the Discreet series. It is equipped with a more powerful soft dome tweeter and a 13 cm aluminum midrange driver compared to the D-500 Center, featuring much stronger magnets. The two 18 cm woofers are equipped with vented magnets and vented die-cast baskets, while the inverted surround allows a flat speaker front and space-saving cabinet depth. The tweeter/midrange section and the woofers are driven by a bi-amping active crossover design for the best sound performance.
Pre-mounted Enclosure & Consistent Sound
The D-60 C comes with its own pre-mounted closed loudspeaker enclosure, so that no after-market backbox or closed wall cavity is required. This ensures that the sound performance is always defined and consistent, depending less on the wall construction and the available space behind the wall. The enclosure is made from high quality MDF, increasing rigidity and preventing material resonance.
Active Crossover & Bi-amping Design
The tweeter/midrange unit and the woofers are driven by a bi-amping active crossover design for the best sound performance, frequency balance, and sound dispersion. When using a Lyngdorf MP processor, the crossover between the midrange and the two woofers is processed in the digital domain (active filter) inside the processor, avoiding phase issues and typical center speaker frequency response unevenness.
